VEGRA GmbH can now look back on over 40 years of company history and specializes in the development of high-quality, environmentally friendly, low-emission, and resource-saving products for the graphic arts industry. Our history

A corporate journey marked by innovation, growth, and future-oriented development—from the first steps in production to an international presence.

1979–1988

Establishment and start of production

The company was founded as a trading company in 1979. In 1982, it began producing its own dampening agents and printing additives in Müldorf am Inn on a site covering around 1,000 m². By the end of the 1980s, the product portfolio had been expanded to include dispersion varnishes, detergents, and cleaning agents, a plot of land had been purchased in the industrial area of Aschau am Inn, new production and administration buildings had been constructed, and the company headquarters had been relocated from Mühldorf to Aschau.

1989–1994

Participation in international trade fairs and capacity expansion

Since 1989, the company has regularly presented its products at international trade fairs for the printing industry, initially at the IFRA Expo for newspaper printing and, since 1990, also at DRUPA in Düsseldorf. In 1991, the company significantly expanded its production area to 5600 m² and founded the subsidiary VEGRA Shanghai in 1994 to tap into the Chinese market.

2010–today

Environmental projects and current development phase

In 2010, approval was granted for the construction and commissioning of a plant for the recovery of oil and water emulsions as secondary raw materials, thereby strengthening the ecological component of the business. Since 2019, the company has been participating in the Bavarian Environmental Pact and, under new management since 2023, continues to pursue a course of sustainable development.

Our products meet the highest standards of the international printing and packaging industry. We work closely with machine manufacturers, testing institutes, and independent certification bodies to ensure the highest product quality.

As of 1st November 2024 Mr. Gregor Gaisböck is the new shareholder of VEGRA GmbH. Mr. Gaisböck looks back on over 30 years of operational experience as CEO and Managing Director in leading international and national companies.
